The idea for The Hug Button began in the sweetest way - on the first day of preschool. A parent had drawn a tiny heart on their child’s hand and told them, “This is your hug button. If you miss me today or feel nervous, just press it and know I’m sending you a hug.” It was such a simple gesture, but it brought so much comfort - not just to the child, but to the parent too. Throughout the day, they both found themselves pressing that little heart, feeling connected even while apart.
When we heard that story, it instantly struck a chord. It was such a beautiful way to stay emotionally close during big moments—those transitions and unfamiliar situations that can feel a little overwhelming. So, we tried it with our own kids. And just like that, something shifted. It became part of our daily rhythm, a quiet little ritual that brought calm and closeness in the chaos.

The Hug Button originated at our dinner table after our 4-year-old’s first day fo preschool, when she quietly said, “I used my hug button today, but I need another one for tomorrow!” - as hers had washed off her hand during the day. It was in that moment we needed to give her something that didn’t wash off. The bracelet idea was simple - and our way of staying connected when we couldnt’t be together. It quickly became something she and her sister looked forward to wearing every morning.
